There are seasons in life when nothing seems to fit together. Plans change without warning, opportunities disappear, relationships shift, and the future we once imagined suddenly looks very different. We search for explanations, hoping that if we understand why something happened, it might become easier to accept. But sometimes, no answer comes. At least, not yet.

Living with uncertainty can be uncomfortable. We naturally want clarity. We want to know where we are going and whether the choices we are making will eventually lead somewhere meaningful. When life feels unclear, it is easy to wonder if we have taken a wrong turn or somehow fallen behind. Yet not knowing what comes next does not mean we are lost.

Some chapters only make sense when we look back at them.

There are moments we once considered disappointments that eventually led us somewhere unexpected. A door that closed may have encouraged us to explore a path we would never have considered. A season of waiting may have given us time to grow. A difficult ending may have created space for a beginning we could not yet imagine. While we are living through these moments, we rarely see where they might lead. We simply see what did not happen the way we hoped.

Perhaps that is why patience with ourselves matters so much during uncertain seasons. We do not need to have everything figured out immediately. Life is not a puzzle that must be solved by a certain age or according to someone else's timeline. Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is take the next small step with what we know today.

There is something powerful about learning to trust ourselves when the path ahead is unclear. We may not know exactly where we are going, but we can still choose how we move through the journey. We can choose kindness when life feels unfair. We can continue learning when progress feels slow. We can remain open to possibilities even when the original plan has changed.

This does not mean pretending that difficult experiences are easy or believing that everything happens for a simple reason. Some experiences take time to understand, and others may never come with the explanation we hoped for. But even when we cannot change what happened, we can decide what we carry forward from it. We can carry wisdom instead of bitterness, courage instead of fear, and hope instead of allowing one difficult chapter to define the entire story.

Life has a way of revealing things slowly. What feels confusing today may look completely different a year from now. The person we are becoming may one day understand what the person we are today cannot yet see. Sometimes, clarity arrives not because the past changes, but because we have grown enough to see it from a different perspective.

So, if life does not make sense right now, perhaps it does not have to.

Keep moving gently. Keep believing in beginnings you cannot yet see. Keep making room for unexpected opportunities, new people, different paths, and dreams that may look nothing like the ones you once imagined.

You are allowed to be a work in progress. You are allowed to change direction. You are allowed to begin again without knowing exactly where the road will lead.

One day, you may look back and realise that the season you thought was taking you nowhere was actually preparing you for a place you had never imagined.

And until that day comes, listen to the small whisper within that says, keep going.

Sometimes, that is enough.
