What Makes a Good Human?… Who gets to say you’re a good person?
What Makes a Good Human?… Who gets to say you’re a good person?. It’s not about how good you speak or how many people like you. It’s not even about the good things you’ve done when people are watching… Being a good human is something quieter. It is in the truth of your intentions.
LIFE EXPERIENCES

I don’t call myself a good human being. But I try. Every single day, I make the effort… To be kind, even when it’s not acknowledged. To care, even when it’s not reciprocated. To be silent, instead of hurting back. To wish others well, despite what I may be going through. That’s where goodness is rooted, not in announcements or self-proclamations… but in the whispered consistency of how you choose to show up.
If you want to meet the truth of your being, try this: For seven days, don’t speak negatively about anyone… No matter what they did. No matter how they made you feel. Not even in lighthearted chatter.
Carry their name with respect or not at all. How you speak about someone, especially when they’re not around, says more about you than them. And in that discipline, in that restraint, you’ll meet the mirror of your own heart.
If I say I love you… I won’t prove it by loud words. I’ll prove it in how I show up, how I speak of you when you’re not there. I’ll prove it in how I protect your name, how I celebrate your success and happiness, and how I silently hold you in prayer, even if the world never knows.
Goodness doesn’t need credit and applause. Kindness doesn’t wait for an audience, and Love… it isn’t loud; it’s lived.
When my brother and I were kids, we watched our parents wish well for others; genuinely, wholeheartedly, even when they had little for themselves. They didn’t measure who deserved it, because that was never our call to make. They just believed and made us believe: what is written for you will never miss you, and that what is written for you is the best for you. That is where goodness begins, not in judgment, but in silent trust and surrender.
You don’t have to be flawless. You simply have to be sincere. If you want to truly be good, be honest in your intentions. Be clean in your silences. Be loyal in your whispered empathy.
Let your love, care, kindness, and prayers be true… even if no one sees it, even if no one hears it, but only you.
Because being a good human isn’t something you declare. It’s something you practice. Something you become, again and again, every single day by choice.
