Through open-ended challenges, children explore real problems such as how to make something move, carry more, stay standing, connect, reach, fit or stay protected. They can use printable characters, reusable invention pieces, Build Tickets, challenge cards and everyday making materials to develop their own solutions—without being shown one “correct” way to build.

The pack gradually moves from individual invention challenges to redesigning flawed inventions, creating two different solutions, inventing for someone else, identifying real-world problems and generating entirely new challenges.

With more doing and less reading, children are encouraged to notice • think • make • try • change • invent again.
